What you need to do

  1. Pick six subjects. Click through Groups 1–5 in the honeycomb above and choose one course from each. For your 6th, either add a course from Group 6 (The Arts) or a second course from Group 2, 3, or 4 — a second Group 1 or Group 5 course doesn't count toward the 6th.
  2. Choose a level for each. Tap SL or HL on each course — only the levels your school actually offers will show up. Your combination needs 3 or 4 subjects at Higher Level and the rest at Standard Level.
  3. Watch the "Your Diploma" panel. It tracks your six slots, your HL/SL count, and whether every group requirement is met, updating as you go.
  4. Review the Core requirements. Every candidate also completes Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay, and CAS alongside their six subjects — see the Core tile for what each involves.
  5. Once your six subjects are valid, a "Completed Diploma Plan" section appears automatically with your full plan and two more choices:
    • Testing as a junior: choose up to two eligible subjects (not ab initio, not Mathematics, not HL) to test for at the end of Year 1 instead of Year 2.
    • Junior year mathematics: since IB Mathematics only begins senior year, pick Statistics, Pre-Calculus, or Calculus to take as a junior instead.
  6. Check your two-year schedule. Year 1 and Year 2 are laid out side by side, with anything you tested early or swapped for junior math reflected automatically.
